This project’s objective is primarily to enhance the coastal road that lies along the coastal area which is mostly affected by sea-level rise, in-land flooding and other environmental factors. This road provides access from Apia to Faleolo International Airport, Mulifanua wharf and further West of the island. Upon undertaking this project, this project mainly aims to achieve two development objectives; to improve the climate resilience of the West Coast road and to enhance local capacity to develop a more climate-resilient road network.
The West Coast Road Project is a project by the Government of Samoa (GOS) funded by the World Bank (WB) through the Strategic Climate Fund (SCF). The LTA issued a request for the construction of the proposed project and was awarded to Ott Construction.
