SAMOA SAOGALEMU PROGRAMME CONTINUES IN SAVAII.

The second phase of the “Samoa Saogalemu” Road Safety Programme has commenced in the villages of Tafua and Maota, with members of the Land Transport Authority engaging with Matai, youth, mothers, and women from the communities.
The programme highlights that promoting road safety is a shared responsibility and should not be seen as the responsibility of drivers alone.
The LTA team focused its awareness on four key areas:
1. Understanding and complying with road traffic laws
2. Developing the ability to identify potential road safety risks
3. Promoting responsible driving and improving driving skills
4. Understanding the importance of road safety for everyone
Every life matters. A road crash can happen within seconds; however, many crashes can be prevented or reduced by slowing down, remaining alert at all times, and obeying road rules.
This was the key message delivered to participants, with the aim of helping communities protect lives and prevent road crashes in the future.
The LTA representatives also expressed their sincere appreciation to the Matai and village councils for the courtesy extended during the traditional meetings held prior to the programme, as well as for their continued support and cooperation in making the Samoa Saogalemu Programme a success.
The programme will continue tomorrow in the villages of Vaitoomuli and Faala Palauli.
