Invitation for Bids

The Government of the Independent State of Samoa has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Enhanced Road Access Project (ERAP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract No.: ERAP 1.2.2 for the Reconstruction of the New Access Road and Bridge Crossing of Mali’oli’o River, Samalaeulu, Savai’i.

The Land transport Authority (“LTA”) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the reconstruction of the New Access Road and Mali’oli’o Bridge in Samalaeulu, Savai’i.  Bids are welcome from Samoan and internationally based bidders and can be in currencies other than the Samoan tālā

The works include:

  • Demolition and removal of existing concrete abutments;
  • Construction of a 26.0 metre reinforced concrete arched bridge;
  • Construction of an 11.4 metre reinforced concrete box bridge;
  • Construction of approximately 1.8 kms of new road from bridge to existing main road; and
  • Associated bridge protection, road drainage and other associated road construction requirements.

A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written application to the above office, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of SAT$300.

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

TOWING AND IMPOUNDING OF VEHICLES

The Public is hereby advised that commencing as of the 1st March 2017; the Land Transport
Authority (“LTA”) will be exercising its powers under the LTA (Transitional Road Use
Management) Regulations 2011, the Road Traffic Ordinance 1960, and the Road Traffic
Regulations 1961, and towing and impounding vehicles which are:
 Illegally Parked;
 Causing an obstruction on the road and/or to other road users;
 Unsafe Vehicles; and
 Vehicles which are desirable for removal in the interests of road safety or for the
convenience or in the interests of the public.
All vehicles will be towed to the LTA compound at Vaitele; and all applicable fees will be
required to be paid in full before the vehicle can be released to the registered Owner of
the Vehicle (as recorded by the LTA).
Fees include:
 Towing Fee to the LTA;
 LTA Administration Fee;
 Fines; and
 Registration and Licensing Costs.
The LTA also takes this opportunity to remind all vehicle owners to ensure that the Vehicle
Ownership details recorded with the LTA are correct so to avoid any unnecessary
issues/delays.

REGISTRATION OF TAXI STANDS

The Public is hereby advised that as of the 24th January 2017; the Land Transport
Authority (“LTA”) will be accepting applications from all Taxi Stands for registration
or re-registration with the LTA.

Registration Forms can be uplifted from the Legal Division of the LTA, or it can be
downloaded from our website www.lta.gov.ws.

Completed and signed Registration Forms with required supporting documents
and Registration Fee must be submitted to the LTA no later than Friday, 24th
February 2017.
